Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to provide my own car?
Yes - this program requires you to bring your own road car to participate.
Anyone can get involved in motorsport in your everyday road car. This program aims to support you with the basic skills and knowledge for you to continue participating in motorsport with your own vehicle.
Your car will need to be in a safe roadworthy condition and in compliance with state road regulations.
Do I need a race suit or helmet to participate?
No – we just request that you wear non-flammable pants and long sleeve clothing and fully enclosed shoes. You are not required to supply a helmet for this event.
Some of the most accessible forms of motorsport such as motorkhanas don’t require you to wear full race suits or helmets as they are performed at relatively low speeds in a controlled environment.
How old do I have to be to participate?
This program is aimed for ages 16+.
If you are under 16, we recommend checking out our First Gear program which is specifically tailored for 12–17-year-olds.
